How To Create A Cottagecore Inspired Interior With Wall Art

You may have already heard the term 'cottagecore' but don't know it means or why people are talking about it! Well, you have come to the right place! In this post, we will breakdown the meaning of cottagecore and how you can create an inspired interior using our wall prints.

What is Cottagecore?

Cottagecore (also known as Farmcore and Countrycore) is a term derived from the two words composing the word: cottage and core. Cottagecore is a movement hearkening back to a simpler way of living inspired by agricultural/rural life. Local food, artisans, romantic gardens, flowers, animals and no technology. (Yes, we are aware of the irony of people reading an online article about no technology).

However, there’s so much more to Cottagecore, than just rare countryside scenery and nostalgic peasant clothing.

The concept of Cottagecore is centred around simple living in harmony with the nature surrounding you.

Ramona Jones, Social Media Influencer and author of the book 'Escape into Cottagecore' explains;

“Cottagecore embodies the idea of a sustainable lifestyle, in harmony with nature. Aesthetically, it’s a nod to the traditional, romantic, and nostalgic English countryside,“

Adding botanical Illustration prints to your home is an easy way to create a Cottagecore inspired interior. Our colourful abstract prints featured above capture the rustic charm of an abstract flower meadow inspired by the floral prints by British textile designer William Morris. Born in Walthamstow, Essex, William Morris was a a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production. His iconic textile designs and production are the epitome of Cottagecore.

Flowers and nature are a key component of a Cottagecore life. Bringing classic floral botanical prints to your walls not only compliments the foundations of Cottagecore but adds simple beauty. Wild flowers like sunflowers are a great choice as they add colour and interest but also represent what you may see in your surroundings. Sunflower wall art can be bright and bold or in the example above can be used to create a timeless feature in your home.
